Interests
Hello! I'm Ally. I'm a 28 year old fiber artist. I am an American, but I live and work in Germany with my wonderful husband. We are expecting a new kind of creation in late July or early August. Now that I am doing full time duty on the home front, I've had more time to work on my sculptures and have decided to make more of an effort to display them on the internet. In time past, they have merely been distributed to the willing little hands of various children of my family (and once in a while, to the children-at-heart in my family.)

I particularly enjoy sculpting creatures from mythology. Dragons and gryphons are my absolute favorite. All of my sculptures are made using a process called "needle felting". Wool is teased, shaped, and formed using (most often) a single barbed felting needle. In their final form, needle felted figures are delightful, colorful, and surprisingly durable.

My goal is to someday offer my sculptures for sale. I am not currently pursuing this, as I think it is wise to wait until I have a bit more of an inventory (and, of course, have successfully weathered the first several month of my little Bean's life with a few work hours in tact.) If, however, you see a sculpture that you would REALLY like to own, please feel free to contact me privately. At the very least, I'd be happy to hold onto it and give you first crack at it when I am ready to go "live".

Other than that, I want to thank you for visiting my DA gallery. I hope that my sculptures bring a smile to someone's face. That's what they're for, after all!
